On January 10, the inaugural meeting of the Academic Committee of the National Key Laboratory of Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy and Imaging (in preparation) (hereinafter referred to as the laboratory) and the first meeting of the first Academic Committee were successfully held at the Innovation Academy for Precision Measurement Science and Technology (APM) , with the meeting conducted in a combination of online and offline methods.
Comrade YU Hanchao from the Mathematics and Frontier Cross-Science Department of the Bureau of Frontier Science and Basic Research (in preparation) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences spoke on behalf of the supervising department. APM was the Conference sponsor, and the Party Secretary FENG Can gave a welcome speech and announced the list of members of the first Academic Committee of the laboratory; ZHOU Xin, the president of APM and the acting director of the laboratory, issued appointment letters to the honorary director, advisory members, and academic members of the Academic Committee.
At the meeting, ZHOU Xin made a work report for the laboratory; researchers LI Conggang, XU Jun, and CHEN Shizhen each made separate reports on related research directions; researcher HU Yunfei, associate researchers WANG Weiyu, and LI Haidong made youth academic reports. The academic committee director, Academician DU Jiangfeng, and deputy directors, Academicians TIAN Zhongqun and Teng Gaojun, each presided over related parts of the meeting.
After the committee members carefully listened to the reports and inspected the laboratory on the spot, they conducted consultations and evaluations on the laboratory’s construction development plan, basic research and application, talent team construction, and systematic and institutionalized tackling of key problems. Everyone unanimously believed that the laboratory has a deep history and a solid foundation. In the new era, it has adjusted from “discipline-oriented” to “demand-oriented and problem-oriented”, focusing on the frontier of cross-science and the major needs of people’s life and health, with a clear positioning and clear goals. It is hoped that the laboratory will further pay attention to basic research in its future development, continuously expand the scope of application, refine the direction layout, strengthen the development of integration of production, education and research, strengthen the construction of talent teams and system and mechanism reforms, be led by national major needs, achieve “dare to be the first, pay attention to details, and value unity”, and strive to make new and greater contributions to seizing the commanding heights of science and technology.
