Talented personnel are the primary resources. APM has been cultivating a group of talented scientists and engineers both homegrown and attracted from overseas. They have played key roles in the development of the institute. APM now has over 600 staff members, including 3 members of CAS, Chaohui YE, Heping SUN, and Maili LIU, 13 scientists have been awarded as Distinguished Young Scholars by the National Science Fund of China (NSFC). In addition, 4 teams were selected as “Creative Research Groups of NSFC”. Among all scientists with senior titles, national and provincial-level talents account for over 60%.
